Analytical Study
Institution Overview:
The “Morocco Institution” is a non-profit civil society organization and an umbrella union for the Moroccan elite residing in the Republic of Turkey. It works to enhance community cohesion among the members of the Moroccan diaspora, strengthen their relationships, and facilitate their integration into Turkish society with all its official and popular institutions, while preserving their connection to their homeland. It also seeks to strengthen and promote avenues of friendship and facilitate the development of cooperative relations between the Moroccan and Turkish peoples.
The Moroccan community is one of the most significant Arab communities in Turkey in terms of population and is among the oldest Arab communities in presence. It encompasses within its ranks various academic, scientific, economic, and intellectual orientations, as well as active components of civil society. This cultural-academic institution will work to solidify the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation among all segments of the resident community in Turkey. Its members contribute by voluntarily dedicating their knowledge and capabilities.
As the Morocco Institution is a new brand, the primary challenge was building a comprehensive visual identity from scratch without any prior reference points. It was essential for the design to reflect the authenticity of Moroccan art in a modern style that aligns with market demands.
Other challenges included:
Designing a logo that reflects the Moroccan spirit by combining traditional motifs and elegant Maghrebi calligraphy, with a modern touch that aligns with contemporary design trends.
Developing a cohesive visual identity incorporating colors inspired by Moroccan culture—such as green, red, and dark grey—along with geometric patterns inspired by Moroccan architecture.
Designing a professional brochure outlining the institution’s services, using visual patterns inspired by arabesque and Moroccan motifs, with a modern layout that enhances both readability and aesthetic appeal.
To ensure that the Morocco Institution’s identity reflects the cultural and artistic essence of Morocco, a meticulous approach was adopted in the design process, which included:
Logo Design from Scratch:
Design elements were inspired by traditional Moroccan motifs, mashrabiyya (lattice screens), and Andalusian palace patterns, blended with modern touches reflecting progress and contemporaneity.
Elegant Maghrebi calligraphy was used to lend a luxurious character to the brand, with careful attention to the visual balance of the letters.
Vibrant colors such as emerald green, crimson red, and dark grey were chosen to reflect Morocco’s cultural diversity.
Building a Comprehensive Visual Identity:
A color system inspired by Moroccan souks (markets) and traditional architecture was developed, incorporating decorative patterns that evoke a sense of authenticity.
Cohesive designs for promotional materials such as business cards, stationery, and product covers were prepared to ensure visual consistency.
Flexible decorative patterns and layouts were chosen to enhance brand distinctiveness across various applications.
Designing a Brochure Reflecting Moroccan Character:
A design inspired by Moroccan art was adopted, featuring ornate frames, arabesque patterns, and traditional color palettes, giving the brochure a sophisticated character.
Information within the brochure was organized in a neat and easily readable format, helping potential clients quickly and clearly understand the institution’s services.
Harmonious Moroccan Arabic and international fonts were selected to enhance the design’s appearance and achieve a smooth visual experience.
We successfully launched a comprehensive visual identity for the Morocco Institution that reflects the beauty of Moroccan heritage with a contemporary touch. Achievements included:
